upshur vertical , 3/4 bore x 1 inch stroke

This is my first attempt at a i/c engine . have built a steam and a hot air engine, both are runners ! my question, has any one converted the Upshur to a hall / magnet switch ? can you share your part changes to mount it . or should i just stay with points .thanks john g.
