For what it's worth, Christies did sell an engine I restored for my ex father in law around 12 years ago, in a sale of engines and instruments. It may be that there's no suitable sales coming up?

A very good point Dave, but it's still an odd way to word there response to Vincent. Frankly I expected far better from a company such as Christie's.

Thanks for replies guys. It looks like I'll only get a fraction of what it's work on eBay :(
I've been put in touch with this company so I'm going to see if they can help, I'll keep you posted. Once again thanks, Vincent.

Vincent, Your link gave me a thought, I don't have a link handy but a fast Google should bring it up. Station Road Steam in the U.K. specialise in steam related model and full size engines. I'm positive they would be at least interested on either buying it, or at least selling it on consignment.

Well, I was proved wrong and I have to say that in this case I'm glad that I was proved wrong for your sake. That was quite a good price for all your efforts: I hope you are pleased with what you received, even if eBay will take a good chunk away.

I hope it will be available for a wider audience to appreciate rather than let it just hide in some dark corner.

Now go off and enjoy yourself.
