Every now and again you come against a thread that you can't identify - this recently happened to me when fitting a new light to my mill - I picked up some cheap track spot lights from a car boot sale and wanted to attach one to a goose neck, I measured the thread diam and pitch but found it did not match any of the common threads I had info on - I did however find it in this chart, turned out to be a brass thread. The chart is in Word file with doc extension and printable.

Thanks retailer. It would appear from this chart that the Myford spindle thread may be based on an admiralty thread. The chart is a great source of information except that it doesn't tell you what the angle is. The dimensions given in the chart are slightly different from what i measure but not significantly from what hopper calculated. Thanks to all.
