the dion bouton scale model 1903

hi im joren a 20 year old student from belgium
i study for car engineering and at home we have a few classic motorcycles
and one of it is an la nef with an dion bouton engine
thats why i chose this engine to make
i get the casting from classic-motors and al the plans
this is my first scale engine i build

That's a nice looking engine. Interesting valve assembly, I haven't seen valve cages like those.

Zinc or "white metal" castings? Did you buy those or cast them yourself? Be interesting to see that process.

De dion was my first engine as well.
I will never forget how scare i was when i drilled first hole into casting.

yes its a casting kit from classic-motors
but i have a litle problem to get it running i use the glow plug but When I try to start the engine, then the spark plug goes directly wet
or there is absolutely no fuel in the combustion chamber it's all or nothing
would anyone know an efficient and cheap carb?

To ignite glow fuel properly /methylen + nitro /you need compression ratio 1/8.
De dion engine has low compression so try fuel with high Nitro percentage
and VERY HOT glow plug.
My advice - start new engine with factory made rc carburetor then build your own carb.
For De Dion engine should be good ASP 21 carb.

and what would be a simple and good ignition?
