During a recent discusion with some other hobby buddies, the topic of making spares for parts of an engine that could fail due to wear. I was surprised at the ones that said they did not. One of those that did make spares at the same time claimed that having to make one new part for an engine sometimes resulted in the engine becoming a show piece instead of a functioning engine. Personly I do make spares, eventually one of the parts you didn' think would fail does so it is back to the workshop on a maintenance project making two new parts.
