I have a 3.25" dia. x 0.5" solid steel disk. I use it to hold down a piece of paper towel to protect my metal lathe bed from shavings. Well I was working on a piece of steel and I was getting some long burrs. At first they just fell and pilled up. On my next to last cut a burr grabbed the steel attached to towel and launched it at my face. Being alert and very lucky I managed to avert personal damage! However the wall 9 ft behind me had an impressive dent! Boo Boo? Ya I'd say so!

This is exactly why I warn against sitting at any machine. Its hard to get out of the way in a hurry. :fan:

Was a time I was cutting through a faceplate for a cylinder . I had to enlarge the screw holes. Despite a mini vise wow that took a fly as well!
