I made 3 like the attachment shows. The 2" vice is cast iron and is used at the bench. 3" vice is set up on the DP. 4" vice is used on the mill when 2 vices are sometimes needed. Most work on the mill is done with a store bought mill . 3&4" vices are made from aluminum with steel jaws.
I found that milling the fixed jaw with a 1 ° bevel with the top of the jaw the thickest part helps to keep the jaw from lifting .
