I've been playing with these in my bench top cnc mill and I've found them to be great for plastics and aluminium, with a little modification to the tip to square off the sharp hook at the edge I've even successfully used one for profile cutting a part from 10mm stainless steel plate.
One big advantage of single flute cutters is that they can be quickly and easily manually sharpened,

Here's the mill and the profile job,
I'll try to get some shots of the tool later.

Here's better detail of the cutter, original on the right, sharpened for stainless on the left, for stainless the facets of the grind are all there but there's less relief to give a more robust cutting edge and the curved "hook" at the tip is ground straight, again to make the cutting edge more robust.
