Hi All,

One of my old toolmaker friends is looking for Silver steel in square sections. We can now only get it in round sections. I thought I'd try and get him some for his Christmas. I am located in Scotland (UK) but will source internationally if required.

Thanks,

Wilson.

I'm in Italy but I'm English and I come to the UK often, I have a source here for ground, square section chrome steel, but they tell me it won't harden, also they have 8 and 10 mm hss, what does your friend need to do with it?, pm me if you like I'm coming to the UK for xmas....Giles

Hi Evildrome

Try looking for gauge plate.

www.rswww.com has it if your prepared to hunt the website.

Chronos tools stock it as do Polly model engineering Macc models and Blackgates.

Its an oil quench or water quench depending on the size and should have hardening instructions with it.
I buy mine from Horley Drill Services.

Cheers kevin
