Great looking engine. Looking forward to seeing the finished project

Good day Les,
I am an engine fitter by trade, I think I know a bit about engines. Then a project such as yours comes along and reminds me of how little I really know. Top job, a beautiful result.
Regards,
Dennis

Thanks Dennis, I am a farmer by trade and have taught myself machining from youtube clips. So I am quite sure you know a lot more about engines than I do. It's amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it>

Les, my knowledge covers the function, repair etc., good things to know.
Your marchining abilities are are outstanding.
My thoughts are how to follow your example.

Dennis

Great craftsmanship, Les. I can't wait to see it when it's all done. I hope you plan on making a more extensive video describing it a bit more in-depth.

VERY impressive. Not only the build, but the design.

Les, I'm not wanting to steal your thunder... I'm a long way from that. Are there plans for just the power plant? I'd just like to study the design in detail.

Great result! I saw a bigger version of Shay Locomotive engine in Canada Museum of Science and Technology, as for me, your looks almost the same! I'm not a professional, I'm only studying. My father is a mechanical engineer, I show your project to him, he thinks you are good at that. I have a homework at my university to choose an engine and write about it a short essay and make in-process CAD drawings. I'll put your video in my presentation if you don't mind. I hope it works out...(definitely, in my case).

A lot of thanks, LesAndrews

I almost missed looking at your great Shay as I was in a hurry this morning, but I decided to go back and...

I'm Glad I Went Back to Look.

That's a very nice start and it runs so smoothly and quietly.

Locomotives seem to be in a class above, like 8 or more cylinder IC engines, running boats, flying RC planes, and clocks. I am always blown away when a new thread or a newly completed project like this is posted.

Great Job and Thank You for posting.
