I have a line on a 14" rockwell lathe in good shape with a moderate assortment of tooling.
Does anyone have any experience with them. Availability of tools and parts, strengths, weaknesses and
comparative prices are what I'm looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

don't know about value as in money but I had access to a rockwell for a couple of years and I would like to get my hands on another.

the vairable speed function is really nice.

Mike,
I don't have any first-hand knowledge of the 14" Rockwells but I do with the 11" models. Back in the mid-1960s we had a strong Rockwell distributor here and 3 or 4 local model engineer/live steamers bought Rockwell 11' lathes and the small mills (6"x24") and all these machines as well as the drill presses of that period were well designed hefty trouble-free machines. The tooling was US standard and should be easy enough to find within current production, but factory accessories will be scarse and parts will be virtually non-existant.
