12 years of work, on and off of course. Some of the time was spent pondering how to make it work. I call that time pondering working on it. There were no rules or instructions. The only thing I had to start with was raw castings and an idea of how it should be. Here is the result of time well spent...

This engine is also hiding a little secret. The piston ring is aluminum. Yes! 6061 T6. It is a captured ring so the ring is compressed in a jig for machining and then the top land comes off of the piston so the ring doesn't need to be stretched. As the engine does not get very warm the heat treated aluminum ring should stay just that.

The fuel tank is on the mixer and run time is between 3 and 4 minutes ok once the motor is warmed up. Running temperature is just warm to the touch. Fuel is 87 pump gas (yes, 10% ethanol) and 80:1 Amzoil 2 stroke oil.

The video is of the very first time the engine is being run so double bumping will happen till everything is seated. It ran off camera single hits. It still needs some tuning.

Nick Rowland of RMC supplied the coil too. It's a multiple spark type and runs easily on 5 volts (in the video it's running off of 4 AA cells)

Some interesting modifications there and looks to be running OK. I built mine as stock but did make the Type A as a 4-stroke.
