Suffering from the age old problem (no money for toys), decided to build instead of buy. Emphasis on quick, cheap and looks unimportant. Just has to work.

Nice lathe especially for turning pens.

I also like your avatar. I was assigned to SAC HQ when they converted it to StratCOM

Thanks. SAC duty was 39th Bomb Squadron, (originally 4135 Strat Wing), '60-64.

I think it looks fabulous! You've provided a reminder to use my brains and hands more and my pocket book less.
Your journey was about making pens - not about owning a special lathe. Good on ya!
