Greetings,
I have a ENCO bandsaw that the vice acme screw is slipping. It seems to be missing whatever goes in the hole under the flat spring on the acme nut...can someone tell me what goes in this hole???
Thanks,
Julian

Hi Julian,

If it is the cross drilled hole, a split pin ! It provides a stop for the spring, pulling the screw forward so the handle butts up to the face. You will have to compress the spring to get the pin in the hole.

Sorry for the horrible description :(:(

Baron,
Thanks for the quick reply,,,
it is not the split pin in the U saddle, it is a hole about 5/16" in the ACME nut itself. If you look down in the hole you can see the ACME screw,

Hi Julian,

Thanks for the picture. I was in the wrong place, sorry.
I can't get to have a look at the moment, I'm away shortly and its going to be a couple of weeks before I get back.
Could it be a ball bearing, or a ball ended pin running in the thread ?

Have a look on the "Grizzly.com" web site for the manual for their version of your bandsaw, the parts diagram should tell you.
