    Mac OS 10.14.6
    Safari 13.0.1

    October 5, 2019 Approx 09:00 Central Time

On trying to log in to HMEM, on clicking the login link (maybe just very near to it) Got a popup teling me to update various things by clicking links in that message. Sometimes Flash, sometimes other things I am not familiar with. Did not copy URL of popup, but not a known or trusted source.

Unable to use "Go Back" button, Did not click "Continue." Unable to close window. Closed Safari, then tried process again.

Noticed this behavior once earlier, but several days have passed until today.

My Antivirus program does not log anything.

Got logged in today on fourth try, being careful to click on underscore of "Log In"

That is strange. You may have clicked on something near the LOG IN. You were on Safari, so it may be something to do with that.

Please post if it happens again.

I’m not 100% sure with a mac but ipad uses safari as well and i would try clearing your browser history and data , i do this from time to time especially if i feel that safari is hanging and i then reboot my ipad .

    I clear history often.

Angie, I think that you are right and it is "near" the login. It has happened again this morning, after a few days of relief. URLs for the popup are not always the same. There is also a legitimate update available this morning, which I will do ASAP.

I am not getting this behavior from any other website I visit.

I will share any other things I notice if this continues.

Please do let me know conditions when it happens again.

If this is happening to anyone else, please post and give the conditions for when it happens.

What Antivirus software are you using? It is possible that it is creating more problems than it is preventing. Some of them enable the Mac's builtin firewall software but then apply access rules that overly restrictive.

Personally, I don't use antivirus on MacOS as long as you keep your OS version relatively up to date. The protections built into the OS are, in my opinion, sufficient.

I have talked with someone and it seems to be a separate ad that only happens with Macs. I have reported this issue to the ad company and asked them to fix it. It is not something the forum can fix and it only happens with ioS software.

Please let me know if you see any improvement in the next day or two.
