Hi All,

at present I am pretty much confused about threads. Even Nelson Riedel in his excellent Website talks sometimes about MTP, MPT, NPT.

Which are real, and what is just misspelled?
Are there Websites with thread data?

Does anyone know who in Europe sells MPT and MTP Tools?

Mike

Mike,

National Pipe Thread

Rohr mit NPT-Gewinde
Das National Pipe Thread (NPT-Gewinde, NPT-Rohrgewinde) nach ASME/ANSI B1.20.1 ist eine US-amerikanische Gewindenorm für selbstdichtende Rohrverschraubungen.

The TP I believe is tapered pipe thread. The PT parallel thread.

If you are in Europe then you would be better off converting to metric fine threads as all the mainland Europe model engineering suppliers sell fittings with these threads and sell metric pipe/tube.

Most of the ones you list in your thread title are the American version of G. threads (BSP in the UK), ME is the imperial (inch) version of metric Fine.
