I had mechanical drawing all four years in High School, but it was a world of pencil then. Probably the most useful thing I learned. Allowed me to learn some Auto CAD on my own, and helped program CNC too. Do they even teach any of that in school anymore?
 
Nice link, I actually have a really thick book about how to read blueprints. This kind of stuff is invaluable to a machinist.
