You can use a similar technique for tin plating but instead of using nickel electrodes you use common lead free solder this produces Stannous (tin) Acetate rather than Nickel Acetate as in your case (members with better knowledge please correct me if I've got my chemistry wrong)

For anyone who lives in the U.K. there is a company called Gateros Plating Gateros Plating Ltd who produce all manner of plating kits and supplies in small sizes suitable for the home shop. They are also very friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to advise on any aspect of metal plating.

I have some of their plating gear, it is reasonably inexpensive and works very well they also sell individual components of the kits separately so you can replenish if required
