Nickel Aluminum Bronze (630)

So I lucked into a couple feet of 2.5" dia 630 bronze this afternoon (it had the tiger-striped look of bronze and was cheap, so I snagged it). How bad is it to machine on hobby-size tools (10-12" lathe, bench mill)?The web sites I've been able to find don't say much about machinability, which is usually a bad sign (one said 30% of 360 brass)... I was thinking of making things like flywheels from it if it's not going to be too cantankerous (I passed on a bunch of 304 stainless, remembering some poor reviews here)

I have an el-cheapo 9X20 lathe and i have turned titanium, bronze, stainless, nickle. I would'nt worry about it.

630 bronze cuts beautifully for larger parts.
When it gets too thin it becomes a little fragile to work with.

At $20 for 18" of 2.125" round bar I figured it was worth a gamble at a Cedge-worthy scrap score

like Rick said use WD40 or Kerosene to lube while cutting for nicer finish thats about all i can add
