Taking Community College/Cont. Ed course in Machine shop ! ;D

Tonight is the fisrt meeting, of what could be a long endeavor in formal education.
pretty excited, even though it's an intro. At least I can learn to read blueprints !!

Lucky man!!!!!
I wish they offered courses like that in my area!

Good luck!

Andrew

This can come in very handy for you, especially if you're missing some equipment at home. I am considering the same at my own community college, for a number of reasons. It would get me the training necessary to qualify for some of the machinist positions at work, as well as give me access to some of the equipment I can't afford yet, and of course training for some of the home stuff too.

Just remember to have fun and be safe :D

I think this course will be all lecture.. some machine intro, but not expecting to make chips :D

When I was working in a job shop, they offered in-house training.

I signed up for an advanced blueprint reading course.
It was very entertaining!

I did learn some things that I had never known before then, but the older Gentleman
who was teaching the course was the real treasure.

He was in his late 70's and had stories to tell about the old days of machining.
He said his Grandfather knew nothing about standards or ISO requirements.
"Prints are for reference. You make it fit so it will work and everything is good."
