A few pictures of my engines:

The 25cc horizontal engine I started building in school. It will run.

A 20cc two stroke diesel. This ran but not to my satisfaction for various reasons.

A 12cc two cylinder four stroke. Initially with a 180° crankshaft and a constant depression (SU type) carb.

An interesting collection of a lifetime of manufacturing and fun variants! Quite a change from some of the other posts of making models of old designs, etc. I enjoy the "experimental" a proactive you have taken.

Thank you all for the comments. The first engine was started in the 70s and was slowly finished when I had access to machines tools. I then went in different directions, motor sport, narrow gauge and model railways, old buses etc. I started building engines again when we moved back to Switzerland in 2010. The design of the vertical engine was started on the back of air tickets, the crankshaft being limited by the offset I could get in the 4 jaw chuck on my mini lathe. The engines are all designed for me to learn and experiment rather than any aesthetics. I like to measure and calculate as much as possible so I can try and understand what is going on.
