Melting aluminuim cans

Hi everyone

I have been experimenting melting aluminium cans to see how bad the melting loss is. The conclusion is I would only use it if I had nothing else.

In Maine the deposit on the cans is worth more than the aluminum. Return the cans and use the money to buy some nice clean stock.

Michigan's deposit is $.10 per can. Right now I can buy it for $1.50/pound, and sell it for $.78/pound. Cans don't seem worth it here either.
