Welcome to the group. I visited Palma de Mallorca 47 years ago: beautiful place, but what I remember is having an exquisite Tenderloin Steak au Poivre at a little restaurant.

[Good evening everyone, I've been building steam engines for a while, both oscillating and with sliding, the odd stirling (which have not worked) and see what I can learn from all of you, and if I can contribute something then it will be good. By the way, I'm from Palma de Mallorca, Spain]

Welcome to the group, a lot of talent folks on here that are willing to help.
Visited Palma de Mallorca when I served in the US Navy Sixth Fleet as a electrician mate on board a gator freighter , first liberty port call in Mediterranean . (43 years ago) I agree with ChazzC beautiful place and the people are very friendly.

Navigator on the Santa Barbara (AE-28); had to anchor out and take a boat - most locations didn’t allow ammunition supply ships to tie-up!

Had to take a ride on a LCM-6 or a LCVP boat for liberty also. They would not let us dock pier side either, Austin (LPD-4) aka Large Plastic Duck 4 sale. 🤣
Spent a night on an LSD before storming the beach at Little Creek during my exposure to Marines during my 2nd Class Summer "Cruise;" had more fun on the 4th Class Cruise with a Hunter Killer Task Force in the North Atlantic (HUKLANT 71?0on the Intrepid (one of her last deployments):

"From April to October 1971, Intrepid took part in NATO exercises, and made calls in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean ports of Lisbon, Plymouth, Kiel, Naples, Cannes, Barcelona, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Greenock, Rosyth, Portsmouth, and Bergen. During this cruise, submarine detection operations were conducted in the Baltic and at the edge of the Barents Sea above the Arctic Circle, under close scrutiny of Soviet air and naval forces."
