Machines and powertools

Hi,

Planning to make me some small tools to make live easy in my workshop.

I already owne 2 drill presses, 2 lathes.
To buy : milling machine

On my wish list / to do(make) list :

power hacksaw, sanding machine, filing machine, small milling machine.... (maybe I forget something here... :-\...)

Maybe, just maybe I will go for a anglegrinder instead of a power hacksaw. Only disadvantage a anglegrinder makes LOTS of noise...

Question : Are there drawings/plans around to build these machines..?
I prefer to see what others did, before I start building on my owne.

Chris,

If you opt for an angle grinder for metal cutting, then don't do it in your shop.

The grinding dust, noise and sparks will soon be causing you problems, plus it usually isn't very fast on large stuff and the cutoff ends can very easily get hardened by all the heat generated.

I made that mistake many years ago, and eventually bought myself a power hacksaw for the big stuff, and a specialised parting tool that copes with 3" diameter and smaller.

Many thanks for posting the following links. I did not need the project plans but really enjoyed the rest of the magazines. I remember reading Popular Mechanics for many youth-full years. Interesting stuff like a string cutter from a window shade bracket, oiling your egg beater with mineral oil. Or making a simple egg buffer to clean eggs before taking them to town for sale. Tractors with steel wheels with lugs. Yep, it brings back lots of fond memories of my youth.
