I have a different but related observation . fwiw .. if its worth anything.

I got my ac servo spindle drive to run about 10 months ago.
Via timing belts - very good, rigid, wide, powerful timing belts at 1:3 transmission.
The mounts are 30 mm thick tool steel members, and about 30-40 kg in mass.
Namely 24 teeth to 72 teeth, HTD-8 profile, 30 mm wide.
These could transmit about 80 hp of power iirc.

My old spindle motor was 1.5 kW, EU, 220V std ac motor.
New is 2.5 kW 220V ac brushlesss servo motor.
10.000 counts/rev, 3000 rpm.

The servo will fault in 1 ms, on crash, or on estop.
Because the servo faults so fast, and the system is so robust, even a full-on crash does not break anything ... it just faults the servo.
Had 2 faults so far.

I hate pressing estop or stop. The noise is very disconcerting.
Esp. at over 600 rpm, with a 10kg+ 12" 4 jaw chuck + workpieces upto 15 kg.

But it does no damage, despite the World Best Fastest Brake.
The very wide/strong belt absorbs the extra load for the approx 0.1 secs (guesstimate) it takes the servo to fault.

Screwed on chuck, but it has 2 keepers with bolts.
