After additions to the inside of the crankcase to improve its compression ratio, and getting the head machined with cooling fins, my 170 cc split single/ (twin) is now ready for mounting on the test bed mower base for a higher rev test. The G4 carbie has also been re-jetted to handle the higher oil content of the fuel as well. Attached are a couple of photo of different parts. On its first rev test, it had trouble handling wider throttle openings due to a lean mixture. Later on, cylinder fins will be water jet cut and then be fitted/shrunk on and spot welded in place. That seems to be the only way this can be done as casting fins on the twin cylinders has proved an impossible task.
