Jet Lathe Specific Question

I recently got a BD 920W Jet Lathe and have a few questions. I'd like to hear from someone who has this lathe. The instruction book doesn't seem to answer them. These ? are specific to this lathe and I don't want to bore the entire forum with them. Thanks

Although I have a Grizzly 9x20 lathe, many (but not all) features are common to the Jet and a number of other Asian 9x20 lathes. You should check out the yahoo 9x20 group. It has over 5000 members and there's much to learn there. There are two publications in their files section: "Rebuilding the Asian 9x20 Lathe" and "Tricking out the 9x20 lathe". If you have a question it's likely been answered on that forum. If you want to email me your questions I should be able to steer you in the right direction, maybe even answer them ;D

The Jet BD920W is the same machine that is sold by Grizzly as their G4000,
Harbor Freight as their 45861-9VGA
"9'' x 20'' GEARED HEAD, BELT DRIVEN BENCH LATHE ",
and Enco as their "Model #308-0338 Bench Lathe".

They all have something unique to make them specific to the seller, but
the base machine comes from the same manufacturing plant in China.

My own lathe is a Grizzly G4000.
Regardless of the different knobs and accessories the machine operations
are the same.

Please ask anything your not sure about!
