I first became aware of this engine when I saw it listed in a Bonham's auction and saved the photos and description. A few years later I have finally got round to making it.

The original large model has a bore of 1.5" and stroke of 4.5" I scaled it to suit a flywheel of 200mm diameter as that is a comfy size to machine from 8" diameter thick wall steel tube. All the other parts were either fabricated or cut from solid. Ouite pleased with how it turned out with a nice slow speed on 5psi and still a smooth runner when the airflow is opened up.

That's a great looking/running engine!
I too really like the crinkle black paint.
Do you plan to do a build article or publish plans?
That seems like a really good candidate for Live Steam mag.
Something different!
