I am preparing for a state competition where we have to take our own table top mill And the only one we have is a Inteltech super pro light 1000 which dates back to the 90s and can’t find anything beyond the user manual trying to figure out how to set spindle speed using G code but does not seem to work only control we have is manual Variable dial
 
I've skimmed the owners manual and it appears that spindle speed control is an option that may not be present in your machine. Reread page 7 about the setup and the options that can be included to see if setting the spindle speed in software is available on your machine.
 
OK thank you I don’t know how I missed that I always assumed it was broken
