Zee,

The video Yoda has waved his light sabre.

Your first engine was recognised by The Force and Yoda's fellow Jedi as being worthy of the extra effort. ;D

Congratulations

Best Regards

As requested, one attaboy. By the way, nice engine! Always nice to see a runner, and my first one was not so long ago that I've forgotten the feeling of accomplishment. Guess it's too late to warn you that this hobby is EXTREMELY addictive! Looking forward to your next one.

Cheers, Joe

And a big ONYA from me Zee (it means more or less the same thing BTW)

Attaboy Zee - Congratulations!

Looking forward to your next build ;)

THANKS!

90LX_Notch: Next engine...I had ordered the milling engine from LMS. Plans and stock. No castings. I liked it because it came with the stock required. Unfortunately I discovered it's the 2nd in the series and references some methods from the 1st. And I am in sore need of learning methods and improving skills. So I'm waiting to receive the launch. In the meantime...in anticipation...I'm practicing my jumping. I've got a pretty good hop now (mainly developed from dropping things).

I like the one you pointed out Tony. As Joe said...the hobby is addictive...how can I pass this one up?

Foozer...this is actually the 3rd attempt. I screwed up the first two kits. When I came down to ordering the 3rd...I ordered a 4th just in case. So eventually I'll have to build it. Who knows...maybe I can salvage the first two and give them to the kids. Or make bookends out of them.

Bob, thanks for the wand waving. Can you tell me what you did?

shred, tel, arnoldb...thank you, and all of you, for your support, advice, and stories.

Congratulations Zee.

A runner is always a great ending ;D

Zee,

Here's the code.

Except, substitute the (() with [[]

Derive by hovering over the video with the mouse in photobucket until the img code appears underneath, highlighted in blue, right click on the img code and select copy then in your message pane right click and select paste.

Hope you get my drift.

Best Regards
Bob

Zee,

Great work. You deserve great praise, not just for the engine or your perseverance in getting it to run, but moreso for the inspiration you've provided to uncounted legions of novice lurkers out there who might think that building an engine is beyond their capabilities.

What we do can seem damn intimidating to folks who have never worked metal (hell, it seems intimidating to us often enough) but you've proved that, even starting from scratch, real results can be just a few months away. Take satisfaction in the fact that you're now helping others via your inspiration.

Bob,

When you want to display HTML code in a post without having the interpreter act on the code, simply embed it within {code}, {/code} flags (substitute [] for the {})

Code:

Thanks Kevin and Bob.
Thanks Marv...nicely said.

All of the responses have meant a lot to me.

Thanks Marv,

Wondered how it was done prior to your help.

I just saw I got a Karma. I don't know who...but thanks!

Unfortunately I must take a short hiatus.
Off to Brussels to visit wifey (so maybe it's not so unfortunate).
Then St. Louis to visit the folks (also not unfortunate...they're why I'm here).
End of May...I get to start on the new kit...woo hoo!

All...thanks for your support. This is a great group and a great hobby.

Zee, Nice one and a ONYA to you.....no I'm not Aussie and I don't play one on TV....
;D
