Hi All,
I'm in the process of creating a 3D model of the Howell V4 engine from the drawing set. I like to do this before committing to machining real parts. I'm having problems with the spark plug recesses clashing with the valve cage holes. I must be doing something wrong but cant see the error - anyone who's made a cylinder head for the V4 can you comment please?
Regards Andy

Just eyeballed the s/plug recess to valve cage clearance on my Howell and would have about 1.5mm clear at the nearest point.
Can`t remember having to cheat in this area to clear a problem.
Cheers.

Sorry for incorrect response. Must have cheated for the very same problem you have picked up. This condition has been queried before on the forum? Been some years since building the Howell.

All the best in your project. best

I found the same issue when I modelled it.
I moved the hole by .02" to .370", now it just misses the valve cage hole.

No not yet. This is a very slow project for me due to time constraints.
