    Hello all

I've been offered a wayco 180 with digital set up and a centre set also it comes with tailstock centering set plus 4 and 3 jaw chuck
It's all been set up and modified as per needed

Only been used once in real terms

    It was bought for £1227

The problem is that the seller is a good friend and needs some hard cash to sort some cashflow out

What I need is some help advice moral dilemmas as to what I should offer for this machine

I've no one else to help so any advice would be good

    All the best

    Karl

Even assuming you get it at a bargain price, unless you really really want it, you would be better putting your hard earned readies towards something a bit bigger. The 240 belt drive (without DRO) is the same price new.

If you have the money, look on ebay at completed listings and work out what you could sell it on for. Then offer your mate that (or as much more as you feel like being generous / charitable / sparing his embarrassment at a handout). You can sell it on if it doesn't suit you, you help your mate out, and no-one gets ripped off.

In a situation like this I’d make the seller come up with a price. As such the price should reflect his needs and the value in the machine. If it is excessive compared to used prices you can then decide if you want to negotiate.

In a nut shell it is better to start with a selling price the seller comes up with. Especially in this situation where the friendship is important.
