I'm impressed! Nice piece of machinery I'm thinking of doing the same if I can round up all the material and parts I need. And keeping it to such a low budget very impressed!
Thanks for sharing it with us!

Steve,

I have the same x-y table that has been on my drill press for years and I've been pondering lately how to use it with my X2 mill head and column. No plans for cnc or ball screws, but I'd like to know if the table works okay for you. Mine moves super smooth with very little backlash or play in the gibs.

It works well. I am pleased with the whole machine.

I was disapointed at first because everything i made was off 2-3 thou. I later found that the lot of 1/8 endmills i bought measured .123-.124. Now everything i make is within .001.

Because it is a dovetail table i am conservitive on the speeds and feeds and it make good parts.

just saw that. Amazing. The V8 s made on that...
