I am now retired, but formerly owned a company that manufactured CNC plasma cutting machines. I have been interested in metal fabrication for many years, starting with doing engine swaps as a teenager in the late 1950s. I currently have a South Bend 9A lathe, a Bridgeport mill, a 2x72 belt grinder, several drill presses, two cut-off saws, a mig welder, a CNC plasma set-up, and assorted other equipment. Although it's strictly a hobby at this point, I have been spending a lot of time lately plasma cutting miniature silhouettes of various vintage motorcycles (see examples below).

I started to build a live steam Heisler locomotive some years back, but only got as far as finishing the crankshaft. Perhaps this forum will rejuvenate my interest in live steam.

Welcome to the fun! I grew up just outside of Ellicott City, Maryland, was in high school when the original Columbia mall opened :) Things sure do change.

Take care,
Stan
