Greetings my name is Nate. Myself and my retired father have always been interested in antique mechanical items and have recently gotten hooked on model engines. My interests are in completing old forgotten unfinished and unloved model projects and restoring antique models back to their original glory. Here is my current project nearing completion, it is a fine brass steam engine built in 1871 and revived from a rather dilapidated state. We are also nearing completion on a fine 1/4 scale Rider Ericsson hot air engine that was left unfinished after the original owner sadly past away. I currently have a long and growing list of projects waiting to be completed including locomotives, traction engines, radial gas engines, steam fire pumpers and much more. I also have about 50 gas, steam, and hot air casting kits from various estates that I will be passing on to new owners in the near future. I am very glad to have stumbled onto this site and look forward to seeing everyone else's projects and hopefully have a few of my own questions answered along the way. Cheers!

Welcome to the group

Thank you for the compliment GreenTwin, dealing with 150 years of wear and tear on the engine was definitely a collection of unique challenges. I am up north of you near South Bend Indiana Davidyat.
