I have just received the Jan Ridders plans for his Flame eater . I had the plans originally but he has released some new modified plans recently with a graphite piston and internal valve. My question is this does any one know of a source for graphite here in the UK.
I have never used it before so any tips or info would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Graphite is easy to machine, it is very messy though. I moved my mini-lathe into the backyard for all but the final cuts.

when cutting dusty materials like graphite just put the shopvac hose end near the work....end of dust problem ;D

We have an EDM business near me. I was looking for some graphite for a Stirling engine piston and it occured to me to ask if they had a drop I could have. I ask one of the workers and he gave me 2 feet of round stock. I was pleased. Look for an EDM shop.
