I live in the UK and require some 7/8"dia or 22mm graphite bar to make a low friction piston, Does anyone know a supplier as I am struggling to find some.

Graphite is often used for large electrodes on an EDM (spark eroder), so a toolmaker suppliers may be able to help you.

It's in Germany, but English spoken, and quite fast delivery, sometimes faster than UK.
P.S. There are many more interesting hard-to-find items...

Try a casting supply house, they use them as stirring sticks.

Or you may find something where they repare forklifts , where they fix brushed motors , ..............They have Always brushes that they don't use anymore.
Those are in round , but also in square. You may get them for free.

I got mine off ebay as well. Search for 'graphite stirring rod' and you should get some hits.
