G'day everybody.
I'm a woodworker who makes toys and have a lot of 'toys' of my own.

I've turned a couple of brass and aluminium items on my wood lathe and am looking for an excuse to buy a mini metal lathe now :D

Mind you, most of the initial uses of them seems to be to create items useful in upgrading those same lathes.

This group sounded just the place to join for intelligent so here I am.

Looking forward to 'meeting' you all.

Thanks for having me.
Regards

Doc,

Who needs an excuse. Good quality mini lathes; are not expensive, are very reliable, and are very versatile. If you're like me, you'll find one excuse to buy a minilathe, and five years later you'll have hundreds of excuses, along with a much expanded hobby ( and probably a whole heap of new workshop toys to support the mini-lathe.

As you're in Australia, this is the mini-lathe supplier that I've used for all of my mini-lathe (Sieg SC4-510) and bench top Milling Machine (Sieg SX-2.7) ........ https://www.ausee.com.au/shop/category.aspx?catid=6 (Note: I'm not associated with this supplier - just a happy customer.)

Regards,

RoyG
