Its a Frisco Standard; like finding snow in heck.

There are just a handful around.

Very nice side-shaft marine engine; considered one of the best by many.

Its pretty high on my list of engines to build.
I almost have the 3D model complete.

Its all on 3D at the moment, but I can drag and drop objects in Solidworks to create the 2D drawings, so no big deal.

I guess euphemistically you could say that is where I live, but best not to get into politics.

I am debating on whether to try and remote bid on this item.

One the one hand, the engine may sell for less than I think it will sell for, and on the other hand my wife could potentially kill me if I purchased it.

I have visions of a 20 foot launch that this engine would fit nicely into.

If I had a boat like this, you would never see me on dry land again.

As Steve says seems a lot for what is there or where you thinking of using it as an anchor.

It is a little hard to tell what is missing.

Obviously the carb and plumbing are missing.

I can't tell if it has a piston and connecting rod.

Missing items will definitely affect the price, but the basics seem to be there, ie: the side shaft, gears, valves, etc.

If the piston and rod are included, just about any carb would work.

I am not sure about the gearbox.
It may or may not be missing some critical parts.


Based on the 5hp engine Jason posted, this engine may not go for very much.
(All the more reason to buy it, LOL).

If the piston and valves are all free and working, then restoration would be pretty simple in my opinion, but it would take some TLC to get it right.

It sort of looks like it has had a frozen water jacket crack repair job.

Looking closely at the photos, it appears that the piston and connecting rod are missing.

That is not good.

It looks like the engine was a pile of parts, and they sort of roughly re-assembled it without fasteners.

So its not really what I woud call a siezed-up junk engine, but without that rod and piston, you would need to get creative about replacing those parts.

They are quite an interesting engiene to watch running, a bit like a vertical version of the horizontal "halfbreeds" what still have their roots in steam engine design.
