My best guess is that they mean for the end of _both_ parts on that page to be drilled & tapped.

I had most of the drawings but did not have the Instructions.
I have one question, what is the part on sheet Piston Valve 2 on the right side that is mark Both Ends
The valve is made from 1/4" diameter stock. Each end and in the middle is 1/4" . In between the diameter is .125 . The end that receives the connecting rod is 1/4" x .3125 long. This is milled or filed to .125 x .3125. This gives a flat spot to drill and tap 4/40. When done the end resembles the letter D, a round half of which is removed for the connecting rod.
The piston is .500 diameter and if I recall a total of 15/16". The piston is .500x.500 and the rest is .3125 long and .250 round that is filed or milled with a flat similar to the valve.

I gave you the wrong dimension on the piston. The correct dimension is 1/2" x 1/2" x 7/16" and 1/4" in diameter. The total length is 15/16".
I finished the model and it runs well. I might paint it in the future.
 
I am trying to build this and having some trouble with the design of the upright and the mounting holes on the valve body lining up. Please, help me see whatever it is I am missing.

On this first print of the upright, we can see the air passage (circled in blue). If you read through the guide, we learn that this is the only hole which is drilled .125 - the other 4 are supposed to be tapped 4-40 for mounting the cylinder/valve bodies.
The two which I have highlighted in yellow are supposed to be the mounting point for the valve body. The distance between them on the X-axis is 4.0 - 3.125 = .875"

Here we have the drawing of the valve body, showing the mounting holes. Again, the air passage is circled in blue (dimension for location are on another view of the part). The distance along the x-axis for the two mounting holes shown here is .8125 - .125 = .6875.

Am I missing something, or was there a mistake made on the print?

That is what I had guessed. I had already drilled and tapped a couple pieces of aluminum for the upright (x2) before I realized the mounting holes were not going to line up.

I am making a quick assembly in Solidworks to verify the other dimensions.

Thankfully, it's quick simple.
 
Yo también me volví medio loco, tuve que mirar los planos muchas veces y empezar a interpretarlos pieza por pieza e ir mirando que diámetro de agujero correspondia a cada elemento, pero al final lo conseguí
