I have just finished making the piston for Jan Ridder's simple two stroke.
It needs to be tapped m5 for the piston rod,and also cross drilled for a pin.
I hadn't read the part about the pin,so only drilled the piston 10mm deep originally. It's supposed to be drilled 22mm deep,so i refitted the piston in the lathe, and drilled ANOTHER 22mm.As I had already drilled 10mm at first, the drill now passed cleanly through the top of the piston! :mad:I guess I could make a little plug for it,but pride suggests a new piston to be made.

If it's aluminum I can try welding it up for you. Just got some flux for gas welding aluminum.

Thanks,Milo,but it's cast iron window weight ;D
I have plenty of it,so I'll do another one methinks.

It pleases me to no end that people who live about as far away from me as one can get, and still be on planet earth---screw things up just like I do sometimes!!!!

And I can break with the best of them :big: :big: :big:
