Drawing up a Cracker Loco

I have a question for those who have built a Cracker Loco. In preparation for building one. I'm drawing up The Cracker loco from the original drawings by E. Glaser. I'm currently working on the engine cylinder. Per Mr. Glaser, the flat face through to the bore is only 1.5 mm thick.
Is that enough for the pivot stud to be securely silver soldered or Locktited?
