Well it's my turn for a "new" bandsaw. Found an ad for it on Marketplace which I think is a Facebook thingy. It was in Milton Ontario. Long story short I managed to secure the sale and had it shipped out here to the left coast. The ad and the PO didn't have much info about the saw, it belonged to a company and had been used till a new saw relegated it to a dark and dusty corner for many years. The tag on the saw shows it to be a 550v 3 phase unit so I figured I'd swap it out for a 240v 3 phase motor and treat it as a project. I got it home and started a little cleaning and when I wiped the motor down the tag read 240v 3 phase. I took the plug off my Gorton mill, put it on the DoAll and plugged it in. It ran backwards so I swapped a couple of wires and voila it ran perfectly. The only thing not working is the light on the welder. I'll put on new belts and tires and replace a few of the guide bearings. Then I might just use it. John at DoAll sent me a PDF parts manual and I downloaded the operators manual. From the serial number I know it to be a 1941 ML 16. I am amazed at how this saw is made, it is just solid. Eighty years old and it could easily go that again, obviously built in a time when people took pride in what they did.
