    Hi!

    I do have a Myford MG12-M cylindrical grinder.
    I completely restored it and geometrically scraped it back to Schlesinger-specs.

    It now holds 1 µm (within metrological limits; that's 0.0004").

    Collet holders (to go into the Myford).

    Work envelope is: Length 300 mm (200 preferred)
    Diameter: 120 mm
    Work holding: Between centers, 3 jaw chuck, collets
    Cones up to 20° (depends on work length)
    Radius dresser, tangential dresser
    Sinuskator (metrological instrument, sine bar to be used between centers).

    Werry nice work. Are those arbors W20 aciera/deckel?
    I'm in nead for some arbors for my Aciera F3. but I will have to do them on the lathe:rant:
    I'm following your thread on The MAN engine aswell. What a project:eek: werry informative.

    No, they are Myford-specific. They do have an internal thread for the drawbar. Very British indeed. ;)

    Nick, it sure looks much nicer than mine. I would like to see a photo of that sine bar, and how it is used. So far I've been using a DI on the bed with gage blocks which gets close, but they its grind, measure, twist the knob, then grind, measure, twist the knob.

    As the workhead and the tailstock are not within .003" of each othe,r a slight hump in the bed. each movement of the TS presents a new alignment position. Of course it only matters when it matters, any lathe guy would be smiling if he is only off .001" over 6". If grinding, .0003" is a loose number.

    But it's a time thing dialing in the machine for each setting of the TS.

    Yeah, a few collet adapters for that odd workhead spindle are in the que, as well.

    Nick, You need another 2 zeros for a Micron, 1um= .000004"

    We should meet in the middle, it is 0.00004" (0.001 / 25.4)

    I have seen your Myford and I thought I'll make you a bit jealous.
    But your's has the swiveling work head, so I'm even more jealous. :)

    Don't worry, I also have to re-adjust the table after moving the TS.

    Here's the Sinuskator-thing. I won't tell you how much I paid.
