Or another fancy cube. Built by a German high school student. Built for about 300 euros. Open source and well documented from what I see.

I have been thinking about building a printer from scratch this seems to be a very good candidate. Maybe with a few more metal parts but a good starting point.

It would certainly be a challenge. I'm not a big fan of CoreXY or HBots, mostly due to the very long belts involved, but I understand why the approach is popular. The other day I was looking at CoreXY builds and this one guy came up with an arrangement that eliminated the crossed belts. Of course I don't have the link handy.
