as i'm going to give this casting lark a go.... very helpful vid, thx

you show in the vid how you make you own casting sand for the plug, but do you also make you own sand for the main part? or is it the same stuff.

if you do make your own "main" casting sand could you share with us how you make it?

I buy green sand from a local foundry they call it "Mansfield red"
I sometimes use oil bonded sand to face off the mould
This was the case with this cylinder
