Hello everybody, decided it's time to come out of lurk mode. I've been interested in getting into the hobby for a couple of years now. Finally got me a Taig lathe a few months ago and have started making some chips. Working on some mods for the lathe right now. I do have plans for the Upshur farm engine with some metal stock to get started. I would like to build Elmer's beam engine also. I hope to learn a lot on this forum and hopefully be able to contribute a bit. Have no previous machining experience although I've been working on my cars all my life. I've worked in the casino business most of my life and reside in Las Vegas. I started a blog on my exploits if anybody is interested. It's at http://desktopmachinist.blogspot.com . I look forward to start building some projects soon. Thanks for having me,

Jenaro

A big welcome Jenaro.
Hope to see a bit of your work posted on here as you progress with your new found skills.
Just remember, there is no such thing as a silly question, only a silly person for not asking.
They are a great bunch of guys on here, and will help you along your path of enlightenment to little engines.

John
