Does anyone have the specifications for MA99E collets (Myford) they could let me have? I need to make a couple of odd sized ones and as most of mine are old and battered it would be good to make them to specification rather than measuring mine and averaging out the wear / damage.

What grade of steel would you recommend?

Richard.

A lot of an older generation, tend to take the words and music of old Lawrence Sparey as being 'gospel' I was having a yatter with a former power station supremo and he was still using the gearbox on his Myford that was made by his father and was designed by Sparey.

Whilst I have a large assortment of collets including Myford 'Imperials', I made up a set to Sparey's design in the Amateurs Lathe and used recommended scrap lorry half shafts.

Not a lot more that can be said, is there?

Regards

Norman
