Some of us who belong to this forum dont machine parts or make things from scratch
the closest we have to metal chips is from drilling on our drill press or dust from our grinders
metal shavings from sizing brass for reloading
we come here to watch and learn from the modelers
and are amazed by the skill and talent shown

Welcome obseve ask questions and learn. I think the learing is why most of us are here. If it was just about a nice toy colletion we could order from a catalog.
Much can be made with a vise ,hack saw, and file and a drill.
