The Coleman fuel is refined petrol, does not have the same smell of gasoline, so it is used instead of gasoline. You can use either gasoline or Coleman fuel

Or can anyone recommend any good, reasonably priced carbs for use with a ~1 cu. in., single cylinder, 4-stroke engine?

http://www.perrypumps.com/prod01.htm has a complete line of model engine carbs. Scroll down to the engine list to see what they recommend for various commercial engines. You should be able to make a comparison with your particular engine to get an idea of the correct size to buy.

The S/S 3mm carb is a small carb good for most any .75" to 1.125" bore slow to medium speed <5000 RPM model engine. They will work with Coleman fuel, gasoline, or even propane (with a demand regulator). It is a self compensating type carb good for variable or fixed speed. It is about the smallest RC model engine carb on the market.
